Kitchens Part I

Spent some quality time with friends in a new kitchen Thursday evening. I had seen pictures of said kitchen online through one of the owner’s blogs, and was secretly hoping to someday be able to whip something up at that counter. I think food tastes better in a kitchen where people like to hang out. And I have to say that people can hang out pretty well in this particular kitchen. It is conducive to hangin,’ cookin,’ and eatin’ (and maybe a little drankin,’ too). And it is home to some cool Henckels knives…one especially nice tomato coring knife which I’ve discovered is a Roll Knife and cannot afford to purchase for myself right now (unless I find one at TJMaxx, which is where this one came from). The above photo story is entitled “Vodka Tonics Are Sophisticated.”

And we were sad that you did.

Tonic is dangerous, all that awesome quinine hides the taste of alcohol and can put a hurt on you something fast.

Also it bums me out that my kitchen is not particularly conducive to hanging out, but I may still have to have a cooing extravaganza soon. Thinking-Summer grilling party. Off to get Tiki Torches

Oh yes! Vodka tonics hit fast and hard. The quinine not only hides the taste of alcohol, it helps you fight malaria...

Cooking extravaganzas of any kind are good, whether in a non-hanging out type of kitchen, or outside by a grill. Say the word man, and I'm there!

We grilled a lot when we were there. When you can't hang in the kitchen, move the party outside.

I never did like not having a good hang-out kitchen, though. We designed the new one to be a super-hanger-outer.
